    Smile Our Rig

An old 1964 Fibreglass caravan refitted and off road chassis and wheels, as well as modernised inside and out, towed by our trusty Disco 2, TD5, with more extras than this space permits..

We call ourselves the Ozzy Rovers, just like the "Mars Rover" but smaller budget, and our Van is The Escape Pod.

Look out for us, coming to a town near you....

Good work Ozzyrovers! I considered adding a 2nd chassis to my '90 pop-top but settled on upgrading to long travel soft springs and shocks. It was too much work for me to replace the original chassis.

I think you want Loneranger to reply.

It's a standard boat loader with extra crossbars. The actual carriers are made by Finn Kayaks who are local to us. Currently I take them off and mount them onto the folding boat trailer when we setup. They are a one piece unit and are held down with electrical tubing mounting brackets from Bunnings.

I have noticed a few on road caravans upgraded to offroad.

How does the body and insides cope off road?

Our new 2 week old KK Classic with extras. Shakedown trip for 3 nights on the Nambucca River at Macksville for NYE.

Really happy with how it all worked, and not really much else needed to be added. Just add food and clothes and go. Kitchen setup works brilliantly and endless hot showers on demand from an external water supply got big brownie points from swmbo.

Looking forward to years of adventures with it.
