Carry a spare wheel on your trailer? Yes or no...

I'm in the middle of a touring off road camper trailer build.
It will eventually be our base going around Australia but that will be in a few years. Till then it will be used for weekends away and the occasional week or so here and there. The trailer will be running the same wheels as the Puma 110 and in the interest of keeping the trailer weight down I'm wanting to carry just one spare to cover both the car and trailer.

    What would you do?

I'd put the extra spare on, in many ways that's the perfect set up, camper trailer with same wheels as the tow car and a spare on the car and spare on the trailer.

Carry a compressor and tubeless tyre plugs. If a situation gets dire you can abandon the camper somewhere and steal both wheels to get to civilisation and repairs.

I'd carry a spare on the trailer also. You really wont gain much by not carrying it.
    Cheers

Also What happens if you want to tow the trailer with another vehicle and get a flat, then you won't have a spare to match.

    1) Yes, it's all about that ***** Murphy isnt it.
    2) I agree two spares for wheels and tyres all the same, would be the perfect setup; it's just that bit more weight that bugs me.
    3) great minds think alike. I already carry the puncture kit and compressor.
    4) i agree that it would not add too much to the weight but I'm challenging myself to make an ultra light weight (comparatively speaking) fully stocked trailer and keep it under well under 750kgs

I have no plans to use another vehicle to tow but I also didnt think of the potential need. Good point.

Bad move. False economy. Too late, a long way from anywhere, to find you pulled the long rein. Me? a spare for both. If you are prepared to leave the trailer behind, to keep the car going, make sure you have the proper repair stuff. Not a good option for me. You could get all the way round, no problem. OR not. You don't want to take that chance . Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

    one for the tow car
    one for the trailer
    Minimum.

If it is a 4 wheel trailer - two spares on the trailer - three all up.
If you put the spares in a good place, it will balance the trailer and so you wont notice the weight when maneuvering it.
