Does anyone here have a bogey axle car trailer, if so do you know how much it weighs, appreciate any info, Regards Frank.
My 1.8 x 3.6 tandem box trailer weighs 680 (GVM of 2000 kg) and my 2.0 x 4.8 car trailer weighs 820 (GVM of 3000 kg).
The servo car trailer weighs in at 800Kg. A skeleton frame (like Micks) closer to 600Kg.

Given that most hire car trailers are rated at ATM 2000kg it makes you wonder how many of the combinations seen driving the highways are actually legal.![]()
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
Yep and that why only today I took my car trailer around to an engineer to see what is required to up the gross mass from 2000kg to 3000kg. Need springs, axles and additional electric brakes on other axle, and breakaway module, so I'll be going this way in the next month or so. Thank goodness the frame is OK for the mass upgrade.

They aren't, unless they have a very small car on them. The companies that hire these usual stencil '1200Kg Max Load' on the sides of them that most people ignore. The Hire company I work for sold all the car trailers due to the legalities of this. Making and hiring out a trailer big enough to put a car on, with ramps and a winch they saying you can't put a car on it is asking for trouble and with the 'Chain of responsibility' laws it would be interesting to see what trouble the trailer owners would be in if there was an accident with one where it was found to be a contributing factor.

Overrun brakes are not allowed on trailers with a GTM of over 2tonne in Victoria.
800kg trailer weight gives a max load of 1200kg.
Most punters don't have electric brake modules so a hire company has to fit overrun brakes limiting the load capacity.
