No 5 trailer rego requirements NSW
So I have just purchased a No 5 trailer and have a few questions with regards to getting it registered in NSW.
1: Do I need to fit two tail/brake lights, one on either side, or can it be registered with the single as per original?
2: Mudflaps, do I need to fit them to comply ?
3: Do I need to fit reflectors on the side and front area of the tub?
4: What number do people use for the VIN ? It has a 13 digit number on the riveted tag, so do I just use that ??
Any other advice ?
Cheers.

hi, i might be a bit late here but if you bought the trailer through AFM/Grays then it will probably have a blue slip already so you wont need to make any changes for rego. i recently renewed my no5's rego with no problems and with no mudflaps, no extra reflectors and just the single original tail light. the VIN is stamped on the draw bar.

If you do not have a blue slip, one commonly picked "defect" at the inspection is that the tyres protrude past the steel bodywork... one solution is too fit plastic fender extender; you could get some garden edging:
Barrier Edging available from Bunnings Warehouse
