have a look inside the supply hose from the gas bottle. sometimes the little mud wasps fill up the hose with mud to put their babies in. It's a bugger to clean out and sure slows the gas until done. If there is mud in the hose and you leave it there, it can get shunted right through to the valves and burners. Then it really buggers things up. Good luck with it.

    yippee!

it was the passenger side magnet

meters fine but as soon as you put 12v on it it shorts...

nothing out of the ordinary when you look at it

no brand on it but it has blue leads with steel wire

replaced with an alko unit and i now have brakes that work on the van.

    thank you all....

was getting awfully sick of looking at the underneath of the van....

I put in a few hours getting rid of the terminal bird nests and slotting in a mppt controller etc

    Before

    After

so i have a nice easy to get to and check fused distribution box and a 30 amp mppt controller linked to the battery charger, batteries and the fused distribution box wired to load out side of the controller so i can see what is happening.

still a fair bit of tidying up to do but is already heaps better than what i started with imho

and i know what devices they feed now

just need to buy a couple more fittings so i can finish the wiring setup

Looks like a good buy van. Glad you got the brakes fixed. Do you really intend to put 400 watts of solar on the roof? Seems overkill - or is that a joke?
Incidentally, Cotton Tree is nice, but there is a problem with local homeless kids roaming aound at night stealing stuff from campers to sell, as we found recently, so make sure you pack it all away.

400 watts is good for around 240ah worth of batts if you like to freecamp. Water will be Incs next problem,,

Yep. Water, batts and panels really add up weight wise but all part of the fun of vanning and not having to rely on van parks and 240v. Cheers
