You could have opted for an 8' van Saitch & halved your outlay but oh no, you just had to keep up with the big boys.

It's hard yakka keeping up with the Homestars, Pedros and the likes on here!

Well, I'm off to buy some tea & bikkies now.
Wouldn't have thought it would be too hard to keep up with me and my 50 year old van.

Of course we now expect a thread with plenty of pics and details on the improvements you'll be making. (even if you think it's all ok, you WILL make changes to suit yourself, trust me...)

FYI - I didn't use my phone at all over the last 2 weekends to look at the batteries - just checked the meter once or twice and checked to see when the solar controller dropped into float mode.

Only time I've used the app so far is to set up the system and to show others, not actually to use it myself. It's still a great system but I don't really need the bells and whistles. And as for TV, if I was building another van, I wouldn't even bother. I seem to put the antenna up, scan the channels, sigh and turn it off again...

Book into the Tandarra Caravan Park near Beenleigh and you might meet Elvis Aaron Presley. He was living there some years ago on the Disability Pension. He might still be there.

Hopefully no changes needed as it's got lots of "Things" added by the previous owner and most importantly, no internal shower/toilet.

Haven't got it yet. Still liaising with a bloke I know with a car carrier to pick up and deliver.

As a matter of interest, would you know the ATM of your van as ours comes in at 2665 kg.

I actually played on a weighbridge just the other weekend with it so I know all the figures. Remember that old vans are very lightweight compared to more modern vans, so while mine is a featherweight for its size, I wouldn’t want to tow it down 100km of corrugated dirt roads - wouldn’t be much left of it I don’t think, so weight very much depends on how it’s built and how much nice stuff is inside it.

    With van attached.

Hilux with me in it (GVM 3,000Kg GCM 5,650Kg)
    Front axle - 1,280Kg
    Rear axle - 1,480Kg

    Van
    Front axle - 700Kg
    Rear axle - 700Kg

After that I dropped the van off and got the following. (Van GTM 1,760Kg)
    Van total - 1,540Kg
    Jockey wheel - 140Kg
