    MT45G-G3-P Engel Freezer Not Cooling

I purchased a "new" model MT45G-G3-P Engel Freezer in the UK in August 2020 which has now stopped working.

There is absolutely no sound coming from the unit apart from the fan which kicks in and out every few seconds. trying to identify if it is an issue with the thermostat, power supply, fan or the cooling unit itself.

The MT45G-G3-P uses the new swing motor manufactured by Sawafuji which I believed were almost bulletproof?

I cannot for definite determine if it's a problem with the cooling unit, or even the thermostat, power supply or fan, the freezer doesn't kick in if you twist the temperature control.

I cannot source the correct service manual for this model at present, really need the service manual to isolate the problem, cannot seem to find the correct manual on-line for my model, or on any website, there also seems a lack of authorised repair dealers in the UK, any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Firstly, determine the location of any fuses and see if there is a separate tee-off for the control circuits vs the fan.
You say that the fan kicks in, so there is power at least that far.

Assuming that it runs off 12volts:

Use a multimeter to check the thermostat. Should be open circuit only when desired temp has been reached.
Is there a heating element? Check that too.

Look for corrosion at all wiring terminations, even in the spade lugs (if used) where they sit on the tabs of the components.

An electrical spray cleaner after a wire brushing will certainly help. Those spade connectors should almost need a pair of long-nosed pliers to disconnect. Loose - tighten them up a bit. Too tight - could be rusted on. (rust stops current flow) Remove, clean or replace. Any white, powdery deposits need cleaning away too.

As for manuals/handbooks, look for similar models but same manufacturer. Then other manufacturers. Youtube might also have answers/help.

I would start by checking the supply under load? It sounds like a bad earth connection, or such.

MT45G-G3-P Engel Freezer Not Cooling, Power Supply Issue

After downloading a service manual for a similar model, I believe I may have identified the problem. There appears to be only around 0.25v supplying the cooling unit, suggesting that the problem lies with the power supply, these are near on impossible to source from the UK or Europe, however I have found a company in Australia, fingers crossed. Thanks chaps for your replies.

When my 60 litre Engel played up, I got on to Engel Australia and told them that, even though mine was out of warranty (just), I didn't think 5 years, for such a well respected brand, was acceptable.

I also mentioned that, considering my 40 litre model, had lasted me 40 years plus, I was somewhat annoyed and disappointed by the 60 litre issue.

They came good with a 50/50 repair. Might be worth a try with your Engel head office?
