My guess is that the stub axles fitted to the Campomatic independent suspension may only come in parallel.
I cannot believe that over engineeing in a Campomatic. The thing only weighs about 500Kg and I have saved 54KG just by shaving the electric brake drums off and changing from Land Cruiser splits to Range Rover mags.

it is a Phillip said, too increase the load cap of the axle/bearing combo they use the large bearings from the Ford and Holden. Common practice
I think it increases the load carrying from 750 to 1100kg
