Cub have a reasonable display at the camping show @ Rosehill at the moment.
Sorry, I don't have anything else useful to add lol
I was looking at this on ebay today.....
Cub Supamatic XTS Off Road Camper Trailer - eBay, Vehicles, Caravans, Motorhomes, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 26-Apr-09 12:46:15 AEST)
and I have to say I really like it...I like the fact it has a little kitchen and stuff on the inside where as all the newer ones don't seem to. I'm not actually buying it. Don't have the money at the moment.
But thinking of something like this for the future...not to expensive but will do me and Ian and the 2 dogs.
I never really liked the hard floor ones, but after getting caught in the storm at Barcaldine I thought its actually not a bad Idea if the ground floods as the floor is off the ground a fair bit.....plus it leaves somewhere secure for the dogs to sleep at night so we don't have to panic about them escaping.
So does anyone here have one?
you like it?
are they OK as trailers go off road?
Would you take it anywhere?
does the landy pull it OK?
are they easy to maintain i.e canvas and stuff?
and anything else you can think of that might help me to make a decision

Hard floor campers have quite a few other advantages over the soft floors, apart from the one that you have already mentioned. For example they are far quicker and easier to assemble/dismantle and can be be set up on rocky, thorny or uneven ground.
The one disadvantage they have is that they are generally not as roomy as soft floors, but for two people, or even two people + two dogs they have sufficient room. Especially if they have a side awning for a bit of extra cover.
I've used both hard floor and soft floor campers and have travelled on numerous trip with other members with both types.

space is not a biggy at this point as we camp out of a roof top tent and a side awning on the car the dogs really struggle getting up the ladder![]()

At christmas the family and I had the use of a 2wd regal. We drove from darwin to brisbane ,fraser island, rockhampton and then back to darwin through all the floods. It was a great camper trailer for the 4 of use kids are 18 mouths and 7 had just enough room. It towed great and the hard floor was great as we were stuck in Mt Isa for 3 days with ****ing rain did not leak once have some photos
It took about 15 minutes to set up fully and not much more to pull down the one we had was fitted with the kitchen in side we did not use it as we had a gas out let on side which we ran a 2 burner stove of it was fitted with 2 engal 40 liter one in side and one out side on a slide a solor pannel to run the engals off.
the one draw back with the the trailer is the amount of storage on the inside of the trailer hope this help you with you choise if it was up to me I would buy one

i did a 35 days trip in my parents spacematic, brisbane to tassie and back. i know its not an offroad road model but probably close to the same size as the supermatic but had the trans continetial suspson pack (inbetween on-road and off-road) fitted, unfortunitly this failed on my parents while driving into birdsville. aftermarket suspension has been fitted and all is good now. the kitchen was inside which was handy and it was setup as two single beds. cub are probably the most afordable hard floor camper on the market. i towed it behind a ford station wagon and sat on 110km'hr all day.
i reckon the build quality is only just there
but saying that my parents are about to do a lap around aus including the birdsville and oodanatta tracks towing it with there falcon station wagon, they are really happy with the camper
So would anyone know what a fair price would be fo one of these things...have a look at the ebay link above is that a good price?
