2B camper in the high country - advice

Hi all, Heading for the high country on the June long weekend and looking for some advice on which way to go.

So far we will camp at Tom groggin (or just over river) on the Thursday night.

Then not sure which way to go. Don;t need to be back in Canberra until Monday PM.

Any experienced travellers got some advice for this area?

Before you go too far with your plans check when the Victorians close the roads for the winter.

Make your plans & then contact Parks Victoria to verify the closure dates for 2009.

Roads that close over winter officially close the Thursday after the Queen's B'day Long weekend according to current signage on all the tracks I saw (as of 2 weeks ago anyway). It can be subject to change though mostly dependant on weather - if there is significant snow or rain prior they can close them earlier to prevent damage.

The 3 tracks over the river from Ton Groggin camping area, Davies High Plain, Mt Pinnabar and Tom Groggin are closed from April/May to October, as far as I'm aware.
