I won't mention the latest bit of expensive news about the P38A - and it's not a part exclusive to the P38A - it's common to 3.9 classics as well.

To be honest Scouse, I really don't know what to do. I've too much invested in the new engine to pull out now but equally, I don't want to throw too much more at it.

Is re-using your existing heads in their present state a "get out of trouble" option until others can be found ?

I mean, they were OK on your 2nd motor weren't they ?
If they were OK, I can't see a problem in re-using them.

What do the LR wreckers want for a pair of heads ?
Or even a whole 3.9 for that matter.

Yes, I'm tempted to reuse them They gave no problems beforehand and had been serviced recently, new guides, skimmed, valves lapped in. There was no sign of leakage on the head gaskets when I pulled them off. They looked almost as good as when they had come from being serviced.

Maybe Davis' are being picky.

But I won't get these one flowed. If I still continue down that path, I'll source other heads.

I've put the feelers out Ron.
I'm waiting on a call back from one source, I'll be visiting another one on the weekend.

Another thought, what about a complete Disco from the salvage auctions ?
You could get what you need & strip/sell the rest.
We sold a registered 95MY 3 door here a couple of weeks ago for $2000 and it had LPG.
