I think it already has, I bought a filter housing the other day for a spray unit and I got it back, fitted it and found it had a crack in the seam so I had to use the old housing and use all the new stuff off the new one to get it going meaning I cant just send it back Grrrrrrrr.

    So Ron I blame you

I didn't buy the winch, my son won it - so it should be safe.

    I had a win!

I bought a Series IIA workshop manual off eBay (from Land Vehicle Spares at Silverdale) for $12.50

I rode my son's bike out yesterday and picked it up (it needed a ride )

The manual was the genuine article and brand new, still in plastic and spotless.

    But.....

Whilst I was there, I bought some second hand A-pillar trims (mine are broken). I whacked them into the Gearsack on the back of the bike, zipped it up, and headed home. They were a bit long to fit and jutted out a bit. As I left Mulgoa, about halfway home, I noticed I couldn't see the trims any more.

I pulled over and they were gone!

I rode all the way back to Silverdale but didn't find them on the side of the road nor driven over on the road. They were the only set LVS had, too.

Nearly 24hrs after posting a 'win' & no response from the masses .

Obviously Ron, we don't like hearing about your good news.
Go on, tell us about why your Range Rover still isn't on the road .

Well, firstly a certain member's employer supplied faulty goods!

But the certain member came to my aid and ordered a new part post haste.

All went swimmingly until I tried to reconnect the air duct from the heater to the driver's vent. I've spent hours trying to get it to connect. Yesterday arvo I finally got it connected but now I'm back on dayshift so that puts the kibosh on doing any real work on the car.

I'll try to finish it tonight.

Scott, I now have to repair the side air vents. They are retained by a spring clip which locates against a thin plastic ear each side. The ears get brittle and break off - a piece of lousy design by Valeo. It would have been so easy to design a better lug and still use the same clip.

New vents are about $60 each I believe so I'm disinclined to replace them.

The vents in the new dash are broken just like mine.

I've made up a couple of replacement lugs which are far more solid and have glued them on. The problem is gluing to the plastic. I'm trying Selleys Urethane Bond which, although it's not designed for non-porous bonds, sticks like the proverbial to a blanket. I've had good results in the past with it. However, this time the joints are in shear, not tension.

Aldi had a sale on Thursday for motorcycle stuff. I bought a new pair of boots. I was lucky, they had nearly sold out - there were only two pair left.

I tried them on last night. The zipper in one of them is stuffed and it splits open. The other? I can't even zip it up when it's on my foot.

    Why do I bother?
