Surprisingly, they aren't bad boots, especially for someone like me who rarely rides. It's too much hassle gearing up. Much easier to just hop in the Rangie.

I hope my new leathers are OK - no, not Aldi, they are Joe Rocket. I haven't worn them yet.

It's only mine that are no good!

    From the Two Wheels forum:

The socks are great value... about half the price you'll pay in a motocross store and very comfy. Great for road riding as well.

The boots are not sensational, but are waterproof, reasonably comfortable and at under $70 they are an absolute bargain. I was wearing a pair at the BSHTFU rally if anyone noticed them....my only complaint with them is a lack of a way to tighten them at the top of the calf.... other than that they are good, although obviously don't offer the armour that comes with $300+ boots

The armoured sports gloves are better than what you'll find from the cheaper brands. They're a glove that is actually produced by the manufacturers of one of the very expensive brands, although I think the production quality is slightly down from what you get on the branded stuff. Again very good value... just make sure they fit you... gloves with carbon knuckles can be uncomfortable if they don't fit right.

The rain gear is actually very good. Great value.

The tank bag is a masterpiece..... expect to pay $200 for the same bag overseas with a brand on it. Bargain of the year that one.

All of this stuff comes out of the same factories as some of the brands you all know and love.......
The BSHTFU rally was the remembrance ride for my son (Bucko Says Harden The .... - a term I loathe).

I feel the same way Chainsaws.

The Aldi Chainsaw lasted about 2hrs here in Cranbourne this month.

Some of the Aldi stuff is great though but some is a bit questionable.

As I said, the boots look OK. They look as good or better than some other more expensive boots I've looked at recently.

I don't want motocross boots on a road bike!

Are boots required to meet any standards?

My first helmet cost a lot less than $50. I think a Bell cost about that when I bought my first.

I felt guilty 'cos I owe RichardK some DVDs - so I recently bought another DVD recorder. I installed it but hadn't used it as I find them too hard to use compared with a video tape recorder.

Yesterday, my wife wanted something recorded so I thought I'd use the new recorder. Oh, well, the best laid plans....

    It won't even power up.

It is as dead as parrot, as in:

'E's not pinin'! 'E's passed on! This parrot is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!! THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!!
.... much like my DVD recorder.
