    110 Wagon Ute Conversion

Looking to convert my 110 Isuzu County 5 door wagon to a tray.

I have had a quick search but some questions if I could please.

    1. Is there a tutorial / project on here somewhere.
    2. Would a Defender cab back and roof fit the County
    3. Could I use the Fender doors also without changing the firewall
    / A pillar.
    tray

    Pete

PS. Any thoughts on steel tray v aluminium tray. My concerns with ally would be ; a lack of weight over the rear wheels for traction , rattly and not able to convert to a tipper later if required.

Do you want single or dual cab? dual cab might require a bit of custom work unless you can get your hands on some 130 parts, for a single cab it would be pretty easy if you could get the rear bulk head and roof of a defender ute, it should swap straight over as will defender doors they are all the same just different handles.

If you are willing to mate the two roof types (to accommodate the different windscreen) you may get away with using a series 3 rear bulkhead, back and roof.

Just a thought.. in fact... I think someone did this...

Have you had a look at Deejay's lovely county conversion?

    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/projects-t...y-upgrade.html

Worth a look even if not quite what you're after.

Could have sworn I already posted... anyway there's a bloke down the road (never met him) who has done exactly that - County wagon to twin cab tray back... looks great !
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

    Thanks

Just a standard single cab and tray will do. Thinking about the tray being a tipper but that may be too much work.

Looks like it's best to get an actual County cab and roof to minimise adapting works.

Just found out someone scrapped a really good ally tray at Sims for $ 136 !!

    Mmm. great tutorials

Think I'll wimp it and go a defender bulkhead , roof and doors for any easy swap option

Any thoughts on steel vs Aluminiunm tray and lack of weight over rear wheels

Ally tray, and you can carry more stuff before you get to GVM.
