Thread: Fitting deadlocks on the doors

The other modification to the doors I would consider if concerned about security would be to attach to the hinge side of the door a suitable steel bracket that overlaps the door frame when the door closes, one at each hinge, could even be attached by the hinge bolts (but if so ensure they are nyloc nuts so they cannot be undone from outside). This makes it so you can't enter the vehicle by driving the hinge pin out or unbolting the hinges.

As to the general comments, I appreciate that security is only as good as the weakest link and all the other aspects - immobilisers, window guards, etc. need to be set up to an equivalent level.

I have a set of four of these bad boys cost around 300 quid in the u,k, for them you just have an exposed 4 mm hole that is it I got them for a van I had and had some mounting plates made up for them I guess you could achieve the same on a Landy.
I didn't use them and I believe I have two sets matching of two, if you are interested give us a hoy and we can see what we can do, I dont need them as I have the lockable tub top

I've made enquaries of the local locksmiths but they need to know the make don't suppose you know that. I've printed out the pic and will take it down Saturday. not hopefull they're available in OZ

Why worry? Anyone with a cordless drill and a star fitting can undo the hinges in a couple of minutes can't they?
I haven't tried but I assume you could take the hinges off and open the door. If some breaks into my car, I hope they do this instead of a jemmy bar or smashing the window.
Hopefully the alarm will go off too!

3950 series mortice lock from zone security in the uk, which I have two brand spankers of and will sell the buggers if anyone should be interested thus saving a whole load of importing and hassle
