Thread: Puma Glove Box?

Really interested to hear ideas on this as well hornet - I get the same gripe / whinge about this from the other half.

Wifey thinks the 'glove box' between the seats is for her, tissues, hand cream, that smelly new antiseptic hand stuff, combs etc.
Same stuff as is in the unfathomed depths of her hand bag!
Never under stand them.

I think the shelf is great, I prefer it over a gb and it's unique. The cubby box is 3x size of other cars cubby boxes so I think it makes up for it.

IMHO the Puma dash looks great and is functional. It also seems rugged

Someone inspecting the Puma today asked me the same thing.
"What no glove box?" and "Why not fit one."

I don't see why not. Only really needs a hinged cover and a clip to hold it closed. The grab rail could be removed if you want.

Funny you ask GreenHornet - I have my Puma in with Daniel/Mulgo at the moment and he is building a prototype glovebox

Current design has a lower shelf (effectively the existing shelf) with an enclosed latch door flipping down; and an upper section onto which he will hinge the existing plastic 'lid'. In my case I have asked for 4 x power sockets (cig lighter) in the upper section to power 2 x GPS plus the wife's iphone charger, plus 1 spare (cos you always seem to need one more - and they're cheap!).

The factory grab handle may be a casualty due to space constraints but may be replaced by another on the face plate acting as the front of the 'upper box'; or in my case I will be getting grab handles fitted at the top of the door pillars for the low rider wife and tin lids.

Daniel is in fabrication mode as we speak. If it goes well I believe he's considering making them as a kit item like the ExBox

I would be really interested to see some photos when the glove box is completed.
I like the idea of the 12 volt sockets incorporated into the design.
Are we talking fiberglass or a molded plastic or something different?
