cruise control and reset engine management

Recently caught in rains in Dalhousie Springs. Got mud piled under my Puma Defender 2009. Engine managment light came on as did TC (traction control). Cleaned a bit and both went off. Next day same thing but stayed on. Got my service done in Alice Springs where they tell me it is actually my aftermarket cruise control that caused the problem. Anyone heard of this - they say they had a similar problem with a SA fleet vehicle and have to keep resetting engine management? Thought I'd ask around B4 I ask the cruise control manufacturer (Autron) for an xplanation - I can't see how it would trip out?? Especially seeing it is turned off on the dirt roads, I only use on the freeway.

Also is there a way to reset (some trick or sequence of things you can do) without taking into dealer?

			Autron cruise Control

I had a number of issues with my Autron cruise control in my 03 Defender (including the engine light coming on at various times). It appeared to be either due to vibration or heat (it occurred several times on hot days in the Pilbara). The auto electrician in Perth who fitted it initially didn't want to know. I had several calls/emails to Autron (whose engineer was very helpful). Finally we ran out of options and they contacted the dealer. When it got back in they found a faulty pin on the original accelerator harness connector (ie damaged from the factory) and when this was bypassed, no more problems. That was back in late 05 and it has not even flinched since.

Recommend taking it back to the fitting electrician to get them to look at it - more than likely (from my experience) not to be the actual cruise control - but good old fashioned Landrover quality
