The new owner could have moved state toward the end of the rego and allowed it to expire.

Just typed MI 110 into the Vicroads rego checker and it is currently registered on another vehicle. And guess what, its a new Land Rover Defender 110 that was purchased on 11/07/2015. So I guess what has happened is the owner took the plates off his old County and re-registered it with new plates so they could then use the MI 110 plates on their new rig.. They paid the rego for the first year and then let it lapse. So now I am armed with the new vehicles Vin number as well. So does anyone know someone driving a Green 110 2015 defender with the plates MI 110??? Getting closer!

I'm hot on the tail. I have just called Land Rover Australia with the details of the owners new defender. They told me it was sold through ULR Land Rover Malvern. I rang them and they are looking into whether they can contact the owner on my behalf.... Fingers Crossed.. Also, the dealership that sold the car in 1999 (last time it changed hands) are digging through their files to see if they have records. It is amazing how helpful these business are when you tell them why you are looking for it, but Privacy is obviously the big brick wall I keep running into. Good to know people don't hand out your details willy nilly but makes it hard for a sentimental like me!

Maybe try posting in gen chat and the aulro facebook page if anyone knows the owner of MI 110.

Not much luck. Having trouble getting ULR excited about contacting him on my behalf. They said they have sent him a message but I have my doubts. Will keep on trying..

I've only just seen this - good luck with it. It would be doing my head in if I was in on the hunt. I'm sure you'll get it eventually.

How about submitting the story to one of the Landy mags?

    cheers,
