    Are you sure?
The volumetric sensor comes off the 10AS unit (sensor input and power supply), not the ECM. The volumetric sensor will trigger the alarm which will then trigger the immobiliser was my understanding. Same as door and bonnet switches.

From the wiring diagrams the harness may still be there. 3 wires terminating behind headlining above RH B-Piller, White/Black, Brown, Black. Haven't checked mine.

The dealer is going to contact Land Rover Australia to get some technical advice.
Why on earth is it that dealers know so little about the Defender? The Defender manual has had info on the interior motion sensor in it since I had my last 02MY one but they are not fitted to Australian spec models as others have pointed out. How is it that the dealer is surprised to learn this? Do they never even read these things or was he only hired last Thursday?

I have a 2002 td5 defender and the wiring is all there ready to be connected to the alarm system... its on my long list of things to pick up for the car... its a simple plug in job, however how it fits i do not know.. i guess just fixed into the plastic or the headlining...

Anyone have a part code for it?

And I have been boasting to admirers (of the car) that my 110 had motion sensors fitted. That's what it says in the manual

Perhaps we don't get a separate manual for Australia?

You don't, all English-speaking countries get the same manual

Connector for the wiring loom for the sensor and the interior lights is behind the headlining near the front right A pillar. Its not always a plug and play job, firstly im not sure if both alarm ECU's support it though if you have central locking it defiantly will work. Sometimes it needs enabling with a Nanocom or such like too.

    Thanks All for your feedback.

Dealer advised after inspection today that the sensor is not fitted in the vehicle. They acknowledged that the manual was misleading.

I will investigate the wiring and sourcing a D1 sensor and will have a go at installing, will post the results.

    Cheers

Nanocom doesn't yet work on the Puma.
