Some of those adds,i think it was the back of Overlander also said it was a seven seater,no mention of it as an 'option'.

You would think they would go bigger in engine size, that TDci is in many vehicles in a larger capacity than 2.4l.
Imagine pulling 3.5t with an engine of 2.2l!

I've received two phone calls over the last year from LR asking me if I would like to upgrade to the new incoming model when it arrives. Each time they told me they could not verify what engine it woud have but they could confirm that it would be an all new 6 speed gearbox. On the first call I told them that the "new" defender they were talking about was released in 07 but I was told that I was mistaken. The other call I got I just listened for the laughs. What a company; after 60 years they still can't resolve basic issues even when it is spelt out to them, they don't know how to fix what they made, and they don't know even know what the hell it is they are selling. If it weren't for real you would think someone was pulling your leg.

I wondered that myself. That might explain a few things.........
