A bit flash for my ol bush hack but at least stinking legislation doesnt rule on LED lighting at the moment! Give us a review Draymond. I was blown away by the light from some recently aquired via AULRO LED worklamps - and thought to myself - these are as good if not better than poxy halogens. Are they good? Price?

    Hey Lads,

    They are awesome.

Great beam pattern and light spread, far better than the original (well Clear Lens) SVX Headlamps.

Plug directly into the H4 connector and are perfectly legal as a direct replacement (E and DOT Marked).

Expensive option, but I think they're worth it.

    Dave.

Here is the spec sheet for the JWspeaker LEDs
    http://www.jwspeaker.com/products/he...00-7-round.pdf

Look interesting, but (effective) output is only 650 lumens (low) and 760 (high) which seems quite low???

They certainly appear brighter than the Free Form halogens from the factory....

That could be down to Colour Temperature......

I think the washers have to be high pressure.

The simplest way to get significant light improvement is to install a Traxide wiring loom (or equivalent) and/or replace the standard globes with something like Phillips X-treme Power or Osram Night Breaker globes which put out about 80% more light.

Well I don't know what you have in your Discovery Dullbird but if you have changed the light globes as I did, I am sure you found them a great improvement, as I did. I haven't upgraded the loom yet but that will follow when the warranty period passes. That is not to say the lights are as good as HIDs. They are not. But they are much better than the standard fitment, much cheaper than HIDs in the short term at least, and there is no question as to their legality.

Another consideration in this lighting issue is that better high beam lighting can be achieved by installing 'driving' or 'spot' lights. These are required to be wired into the high beam circuit (ie turn on the high beam and you have the option for the spotties to come on as well). The issue seems to me to be one of improving the lighting on low or dipped beam. Improvement to the low beam will not be achieved by use of the dual HID high beam - halogen low beam, approach, unless the halogen uses the same technology as the X-treme Power and Night Breaker globes.

    Cheers
