Thread: seat options

For the wife's ninety I bought some high back sport seats from Repco, can't remember the make. On the ninety I had to remove the trim pack around the cargo area to get them in. I don't know on a 110. They are great both on and off road and were easy to modify to fit. They are not in the same playing field as the SVX seats though, but nor is the price

I guess if price was not a consideration then the Puma leather jobs would be the go. I clicked OE spec replacements - my new (to me) 130 has a Recaro drivers seat (dont know the model) and it is very nice, that might be a lower cost option than the Puma ones.
Downside of Recaro is that you cant access the underseat boxes anymore.

The Recaro seats in the SVX still allow access.
To me they are the only part of the SVX that was worth all the extra money. VERY comfy even for long drives.

Had Stratos seats in my old 60 series Toyota. The specialist seat makers are expensive, but worth every penny. Not noticeable just with a quick sit down, but after eight hours or more, you really appreciate them; bit like a Moto Guzzi (that's motor cycle for uninitiated).

Your seats must be stuffed if Liberty seats seem good in comparison. I find Liberty/Outback seats far less comfortable than Defender/110. Not so much on the short drives, but after a few hours of driving.

My seats most definitely are stuffed. However that is a good point, I haven't tried the subie seats on a long drive, however the seats in my 91 liberty GX (commuter for the last few weeks) have seemed very comfortable so far.

Approximate price? Pics? Part number?




I should have added - I like the OEM seats in general and find them comfortable - even on long trips, however:
1. They could use (more) lumbar support
2. The headrest is angled so far back it is useless except in an accident - an adjustable headrest (like the liberty) or one with foam twice as thick would be good

I think the seats were Monza, I've just found the part number I think-SSP66RR. We bought them from repco for about $600 the pair. The son and I fabricated mounts from the original seats. They only just fit but are a better ride than the old ones.

Hi, i would recommend a retrim kit. you can put in an "XS 1/2 LEATHER" KIT. I installed one of these a few week ago, and mate it make a big difference. you sit higher and straighter.
