    Sorry to intrude,

Are we talking out a raised intake and a group purchase if so I'd likely be interested. (Left and right side)

Yep, flat for me. Given that part of the reason for having checker plate on the wingtops is to allow you to lean/stand on them, anything raised would possibly get in the way or risk being squashed in the process of leaning/standing.

Also, got a reply from LRseries.com, and theyre prices for genuine or OEM plastic replacements are very reasonable. I got quoted £14.71 to supply and ship 4 vent covers, which I might do unless agrojnr can supply custom steel ones for a good price.

I made my own out of propellar plate the full length which covered up the vent. I bought a snorkel for a 200tdi defender and made my own ducting up out of 3inch irrigation pipe to hook up to the under bonnet A/C unit in an 85 V8 county. I now have fresh are coming in the vents without running the fan. The sheet of propellar plate was $160 for 3mm and I did my bonnet and both gaurds and still have 1/2 a sheet left to do my other county.

I've got the scoop on my Defender, but one that is lower and more discreet than the Paddocks one. I got it from Rovacraft, when they were dealing with us. I went for the scoop as it would keep some rain out of the heater intake, and the narrow scoop also allows me to wedge in a piece of foam rubber and seal it for deep water crossings.

My favourite 'looking' one is the LRX vented type, but the scoop is just so much more practical.

It might be worth considering the benefits of the scoop before commiting to another flat vent.

    Sorry for the delay guys

    In 2mm 304 4b (shiny stuff) its $40+ postage

    In 3mm 304 4b its $70+

    In 3mm Ali its $70+

All these plates have around 220 holes in them but if you want less holes than the ones ben put up then the price will change

As I recall adam the price is basically related to the total length you have to cut? So a smaller number of larger holes would be quite a bit cheaper (as would round holes?)???
