Thread: Help to remove steering wheel

Most Land Rover steering wheels have 2 metric bolt holes either side of the big nut.
Get a piece of steel and drill 2 holes at the appropriate distance so that it goes over the top of the thread that the big nut goes on to.

Select 2 bolts that will not bottom when tightened and screw them up.
Voila!
or if you are non technical you can buy kits at Repco.
Of course you remove the big nut first.

Yep done both of those and also had the feet on the dash swinging on the steering wheel action with still no movement

Tap the steel and around the thread with a hammer.
I have never been in your situation as mine always let go with the puller, but perhaps some of that freeze spray on the thread.
You should not be pulling on the wheel, as you can destroy the collapsable part of the column.

its a taper fit...

for starters I usually put a few drops of dieso onto the splines. then using the appropriate puller as previously described I get some major effort on hte threads... (bout 40nm per bolt) then I get the FBH and give it a smack on the center of the puller.

Never had one resist past that yet.
