Why ali, no where near as strong. If you have a animal strike the ali one will fold up.

						G'day,
Does anyone make alloy bullbars for Defenders?
If not, my next choice is the Dolium (code LRBBR) item.
The Dolium website says they are discontinued however, they will still order me one from South Africa if I wish.
Cheers,
Iglooist

ally can be as strong or stronger, depends on how its made and what its made from.. like for like yes it will be weaker, but the 30kg beast of an ally bar i have on the deefer i reckon would hold up pretty well.
Its made from 6, 8, and 10mm plate!

But why buy Ali when you can buy steel. In order to be as strong as steel it has to be thicker so in the weight department its not that much different, A steel bar can often (not always) be repaired if bent, an ali bar no way.
Much easier to weld / modify a steel bar too.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

I've got the Dolium/ Front Runner jobbie fitted. Very tidy and the curved corners make it look very close to original parts. I can recommend this bull bar to all that might be interrested.
As Benny said, the ARB one is tough as nails too, but I personally didn't like the shape of it, so I chose the FR one supplied by Opposite Lock (apparently the last stocked one in WA).
Cheers!
Those maths are right but it depends what type of "strength" you mean - obviously the 2 materials have different properties.
