Peak power and torque are one thing. What about at lower revs where you need it in a 4x4.

I have driven a 2.4. It felt great at high revs and the 6-speed is nice, but there is no comparison to the torque down low in a 4BD1 (even NA!).

NICE! Never realised they were that expensive! but honestly how much would it cost to make some moulded rubber mats? 20 dollars?

Cal415,I got the seat covers from Rimmer Bros in the UK,ordered them sunday night online and they were at my door friday afternoon.Puma's aren't noisy and the floor mats do soak up alot of noise, mine being the X-Tech has wrangler muddies on it and they are the loudest part of the whole car. Cal you think the ribber mats are made cheap and sold for a lot. Price up some genuine wing tops. Make sure your sitting on the couch so you don't hurt yourself when you fall over.

Mate I can understand your enthusiasm to change bits and bobs, and you know your way around Landies. But I'd let the car bed in 15, 20, or 30K before you change anything. They are dam expansive to fix, and having your warranty revoked for something you may know had no affect, but LR see it differently can be a lesson not needed.

The trouble with a Puma as I see it, is they haven't really come up with a common problem. Everyone seems to get what they get. And I'm sure glad I didn't pay for the troubles I had with mine at the start. Perhaps a remap or ERG removal may have changed the circumstances significantly.

    just some food for thought.

    Are you sure?

I'm quite prepared to backpedal & retract, wouldn't be the 1st time, but I thought this was the joint Peugeot etc FL2 engine turned north/south.

    Happy to be proved wrong

Exactly what i was thinking, im my previous experience LR wernt all that great cover my D2 because of the "offroad use" so i was thinking of keeping it simple to start with, interior and stereo mods etc till 20k then i might start looking at the more major stuff, the BAS remap tombie sells looks good, can flash it at will and it disables the EGR

With the diffs, i dont think it matters when i do them as they will get all new internals so LR wont cover them anyway and i will probobly get decent money for the stock items that come out. Either way i would have a lot more confidence in those diffs then the stock items...

I can imagine why Land Rover would produce a smaller capacity engine in countries where the road taxes are directly attributable to the swept capacity of the engine, i.e. smaller capacity engine = lower taxes.

Having said that, I noticed that the VW Amarok is equipped with a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder turbo diesel, and the Amarok is not a small truck by any stretch of the imagination.
