Thread: Longer mirror arms.

When I looked at them here they were very cost prohibitive.

I have never seen a Sherpa van equivalent in Aus. It's an LDV vehicle. They're everywhere in the UK, the post office use thousands of them. You could try any UK scrapyard, probably get them for pence, but postage would be the killer.

As for Wolf I figure they mean the UK military vehicle based on the Defender. There arn't too many around so doubt that the mirrors off of them would be in any way cheap. May be army surplus but again the postage would kill the price.

Amazing what you find when one spends too much time reading about Landies.

The wolf arms extend the mirrors length out almost by double. I can easily see past my 1.8 metre wide now. However I think 1.9 or 2 meters may be there limit.
My experience was the UK are far cheaper the Aus unfortunately.

Buy genuine, I found the springs in the after market ones I got are not strong enough. With the mirror being out so far they vibrate and become useless.
I now have genuine and they work as they should. I would imagine there is only two if not one factory making these arms.

When off road, if the track is too narrow, I simply compress them into the door same as original.

I ordered a pair from Les Richmond auto in Melbourne, they were genuine, and were fantastic to see past my trayon camper which is 2.1 wide, however at about 95 km/h they would fold back about 1 inch, so I had to put a large cable-tie around the hinge to stop it. You couldn't pick they were wider unless you really looked, but they were expensive.
