Yes,
I occasionally do it 2nd low to 2nd high with a double shuffle (double de clutch), but don't find a need for it generally.

Have no option if towing a Caravan off from the lights on a hill in a TD5
Owners booklet even suggests it.

We do occasionally with the camper on board...makes taking off so much easier with the heavy load especially on a slight rise

Defintely possible - you just need some mechnical sympathy when easing it into low/high range.
depending how much slop you have in the rest of your drivetrain it may make it easier to engage on the fly. its actually easier to change in and out of low/high when the car is slightly moving (~5kph)

Low-high is easy.
High-low on the move is the harder one. Just make sure you are only doing ~5 km/h.

Low-High is taught by LR...
Get the car moving and come up to 4th Lo.
Dip clutch, drop the x-fer into neutral and bring clutch up (double clutch).
This is the time critical bit...
Hand on x-fer lever and as you're dropping the clutch, drop it into Hi - (Doing it at this point will prevent crunching of gears as everything should be in sync).
While the clutch is down, drop it into 3rd (or 2nd if you've got weight) and away you go...
