OEM 110 & 130 trailing arms. Are they Different?

Today I've been playing with my 150 putting in bushes etc. Am now wire brushing off the trailing arms with a 4" grinder.

One trailing arm had its nut cut off with a gas axe and it and it's partner (I assume) had slight bends. So when I went to my local LR workshop to push in the radius arm bushes I acquired another pair of trailing arms. They came off a 130.

First I wire brushed the 130 arms, then I went to the originals (Same length). What I noticed is that the originals ring like a tubular bell where the 130's didn't seem to do it.

Is there a difference in wall thickness of the tube, or did something else change?

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I am fairly certain that 80's spec One Tens had different construction (stronger?) trailing arms than 110 Defenders.

You are correct, I managed to acquire a parts catalogue and it seems that the trailing arms experienced a change from NTC4720 (solid) to NTC8328 (hollow) at VIN #HA470437 end of 1990.

Which begs the question, are the solids better than the hollows?

    And

Which axle would people fit the solids, B axle or C axle?
