No your not missing anything, it is just a relay and some wire (plus spade terminals, switch and maybe a fuse.) If you know how to do it, it's very easy, I knock them up all the time. The one you buy are just for convenience and rely on people not knowing what to do. If your a bit handy you should not have a problem.

If you are handy, use the right gear, and know what you are doing, you will end up just as good.

The ones they sell don't fit very well in a 110. You would have to take the light socket off to get it into the headlight area/box.
I used 6mm wire on mine (overkill?)
When you do them, throw a sheet over the bar and take a before and after photo. It is amazing how much brighter the lights are.

I solved to OP's problem by purchasing a headlight and driving light kit from Traxide.
I have already fitted the headlight kit but have since fitted the new bullbar and am looking for driving lights.
My question to all is what have you done for a driving lights switch in the cockpit?
Is a there a switch from LR one can fit into one of the blank positions in the dash?
