Sounds like the M/C leaking into the booster to me. Pretty easy to check by unbolting the M/C (leave the lines and reservoir on) and just move it forward enough to see if there is brake fluid leaking past the piston.
Over the last few months I have been topping up the fluid every week. The brakes may be off a bit but hard to tell. No dribbles down wheels or in the cab from pedal.
Where is it going?
First thought is into the booster. Then what. Can it get to the suction side and end up in the sump?
Testing by switching off, pumping , starting with foot on pedal all seems to be by the book.
Any clues anyone?

Have a very careful look underneath. Some years ago I had a brake fluid leak appear where the (nylon) fuel line touched the brake line on top of the chassis below the driver's feet. (Note that the soft nylon wore a hole in the steel pipe, not the other way round!).
It could be the booster, in which case the fluid is ending up in the vacuum pump/intake manifold (disconnect the vacuum line and smell for traces of brake fluid - even easier than disconnecting the m/c).
It does not take much of a leak to drop the level in the reservoir, and particularly if you have drum brakes at the back, it can take a lot of leakage before it becomes obvious (if you have rear drums, take them off to check).
