Did you end up getting the electric brakes done?

Defenders out in force this morning, green 130 with a canvas back on Richmond road about 9am, same 130 on his way back this arvo.

A grey and a black 110 at the same time, and one more 110 which I can't remember the colour.

No waves as I was on my bike but it was good to see them all in such close proximity.

notwithstanding almost pushing the windscreen out in my excitement ,completely ignored by an early Defender flat tray on the Lyell highway - I was in the 109. My eye sights not all that, but I think I may even have been the recipient of a scowl.
    cheers,

I've had scowls. Grumpy old farts they are. A smile would crack their faces.
    Cheers, Billy.

Regarding signature waves for a brand or marque, that creator of most things mediocre, overrated and over priced- you know them as the maker of Canned Loser, Play-doe and Rollux- tried to claim a nonchalant raise of the finger off the steering wheel as its own. Sort of like them claiming how clever they were putting double overhead cams in their engines years after Jag mastered it. The wave was an integral part of its rigorous testing for suitable drivers of the Rollux in one of their (admittedly very good) advertising campaigns. The ad showed the prospective buyers going through many trials and tribulations to attain the keys to one (I would've thought owning one was trial and tribulation enough) and having attained that coveted position it was "a mark of achievement to carry on that tradition and honour". It showed the correct wave- so similar to a proper Landrover wave as to infringe copyright- and then a Rollux candidate with an inane grin and a happy wave failing to pass. I thought he was a perfect candidate for a Rollux as he had the blank vacant look along with a bewildered stare the same as most people get when told how dear optional air conditioning is on top of the inflated price for their chosen wheeled mediocrity.
The irony of that is that out here around Cloncurry 80% of people wave as they pass regardless of chariot of choice, but if there was to be a representative of those who are most likely not to wave it's the Rollux steering wheel attendant.
Sadly there aren't a lot of Landrovers out here of any model but those I have seen are pretty enthusiastic with their salutations- Disco, Rangie, Defenders and the Series. I haven't spied an Evoque or Freelander so don't know if it extends to them. Mt Isa, only 120 kms up the road, has a few more enlightened owners and they seem willing to wave and even talk about their vehicle given the chance.
While it is a little heartwarming out here to wave to everyone it takes a while to refrain from doing it as you near the coast as the looks of bewilderment get more and more frequent as you wave to everyone as you enter more populated towns. And then again, even the wave out here is suffering a drop off from too many city folk coming out in fly-in fly-out positions and not engaging with their local community. That's sad.

Canned Loser, Play-doe and Rollux. Love it. You've made my day.

Indeed. Any Land Rover owner should be grateful for such a compliment.

Got 2 waves in 2minutes this morning! Macca's lights in Mackay! 2 very nice looking defenders, one with a female driver! (not that females can't drive defenders or anything like that....) I don't normally see many defenders round, but 2 within a couple hundred meters is unheard of! It made my day.
