I am currently on a rather large project in Madagascar, the one and only Landrover out of a multitude of all makes and models is a 97 300Tdi Defender, used by a local security firm to move there people about, they wave every time they see me as do I... I have a part Landrover, a 2.2 Ford Ranger... they wont swap...
Buddy is on loan whilst I am OS, so don't shoot me if she doesn't wave back. Borrowers have been told wave is mandatory.
Coming home from Jimboomba (work) I have seen before a green a TDi 130 defender with white roof and sure enough waved again today. Are you here?
You do seem local.

I have been driving around Perth for a couple of months now... LOTS of Defenders here and pretty well 100% of them wave back! :D
Got snobbed by a td5 110 in Umagico a few weeks ago (full arm out window wave). As it turns out I saw them last week down at Mutee head and it was a hire vehicle. Two euro lads who thought that washing their dishes (with meat scraps) off in the waters edge would be a good idea at 9:30pm with a headlamp you could barely see your own hands with. I went and politely said how that may not have been a great move, next morning they were bathing at the same wash spot (very murky too)....
Other than that have had some very enthusiastic waves lately.
First day back in OZ. First day in the Defender for a Month. Got a wave from a white 130 on Lilyfield Rd and a blue Extreme on James St. Both less than half a K from home.
Did a quick trip down to Coffs Harbour yesterday to deliver a motor. Had a few waves from defenders heading north:D On the property we had several waves from all the series vehicles. Thanks Mike and the tomatoes are very good:)
