Thread: Where's the Defender wave gone?

Waved to a silver Disc (maybe series 2) yesterday on Scout Road, Kurwongbah and I got a puzzled look.

This morning I was beaten to a wave from a young chap on Scout Road again, he was a P plate white 110 wagon driver. I returned the wave (I was the lunatic in the Series 3 white ute with white canopy). My first wave in my new Land Rover. Thanks.

got a wave from a white 110 with black roof in Windsor this morning and a huge out the window wave from COL 110 on the North Richmond Bridge last evening.

Went into Sydney twice in the last week or so and saw 15 Defenders on my travels but only 5 waves in return. Oh well..

Defenders have become somewhat hipster in Sydney..

To true. In the last 2 yrs its gone from rare to everywhere. Most seem to have grasped the wave though. Wonder how many will still love their Defender in a few years time...

Yeah it's funny. I can think of at least half a dozen in my local area. It's now unusual if I go down to the local shops on a Saturday morning (Turramurra) and don't see a Defender.

None of the owners look like hipsters though, except me of course. However I do know there's a few of us who bought them as it was the end of production (including myself).

Most of the owners that I have spoken to are positive. Often love the quirkiness and "no nonsense" appeal of the defender.

Spotted a nice county picking up someone at Ferny Grove station. Think the colour is masai red with a white roof and bonnet.
