Seemed to be confirmed this afternoon. Heading home from North Richmond with our fish n chips, stopped at the lights in our Black 90 to turn right and a new Defender 90 pulled up right next to us with the driver’s window open. My wife gave a wave (her window open) as the driver stared right us but no acknowledgement :-(
I got a wave from a new blue 110 on the way home through Bathurst yesterday. Then another from an immaculate blue Perentie FFR which has been lurking around Turramurra for a while.
not waving to whatever the "new defender" is supposed to be. Might as well be waving at a bloody discovery or range rover.
I might be out of the ordinary but just because I have a ""new defender"" doesn't mean I'll stop waving to other Defenders. After 15 years of Defender waving it's hard to break that habit especially when I own both types. It's just a raised index finger after all. [thumbsupbig]
What's the rule with the Ineos? I was driving the other day, the roof line of an Ineos caught my eye over another car in traffic and i waved without thought. The car that blocked my view moved forward and the full profile of the Ineos was revealed. I shrugged and thought, why not, it's the defender that should have been.
I don’t bother waving when I’m in a Disco cos nobody cares. Most Deefer drivers wave at the Series though. Small children wave at the OKA.
Grenadier? Sure, I’d wave at them. Prolly driven by disgruntled former Deefer owners.
I’ve waved at a few 663s in the past but don’t bother now as I never received any response at all. Might as well wave at KIAs.
We drove 150 odd kms from home to the Expedition Centre in Mortlake (Sydney) and back this morning in our 300Tdi and only saw one real Defender on the road but he was 5 lanes away heading In the opposite direction so my feeble attempt at a wave went unnoticed. Later on Windsor Road we were passed by a new 110 and for the next 5 kms or so we regularly passed each other in the traffic but not a glimmer of recognition.
