It's funny you mention the Toyota. People must be getting used to us being up here now, as they're even waving when we're in the 90 series Prado

You all do know that only female mosquitos bite.

Now I'm going to my shed for the day and sulk.

The Defender waves are still very much in evidence and can be easily seen on models with darker glossier paint finish, like Defender Xtreams for example.
Waves everywhere, and not a flat surface to be seen.

I think the wave, after a while, becomes automatic (no, I'm not being flippant this time). When I'm enjoying a nice ride on the motorised bicycle I find I just give the defender wave without thinking. The first clue that I'm on a motor cycle is when I look to see if there is a return wave and just get a strange, confused look instead.

Its not just Defender drivers that wave to each other, if your towing a caravan almost every other driver towing a caravan waves, no mater what they are driving. When I was in my BJ40 I always waved at other 40 series drivers due to the LandRover habit & got about a 50% return rate.

Its that I used to be schizophrenic; and so was I.

    Schizophrenia, It beats dining alone!
My doctor cured my schizophrenia, but now where am I when I need me?

I always get and give the wave when driving Smeg, and I even wave when I am on the motorbike (should put a Landrover badge on it), I used to own a minimoke and the wave came with the territory. Hopefully the tint on the new Deefer wont be too dark or I might have to get used to driving with the window down.

    Cheers Ian

Not true. I get about 50% return when towing the van.

It depends where you are when you wave.. out of the cities nearly all caravaners wave.. but in cities nearly no one will.. (maybe they are concentrating on traffic?).. I've heard stories about one caravaner getting around with a smiley face painted on a ping pong bat that he holds up as other caravans go past.. and there is even a small book out about the caravan wave..
