I haven't seen one but if I get the opportunity I might try and get there.

Something about that sets off alarm bells for me. Deceptive and dodgy. Have good look at the flyer and google " The Fathering Project". See if you really want to be involved in that.
    Cheers, Billy.

    wheres the defender wave gone?

    It should read,

If your a Dad with no teeth and you have a bus pass and are on welfare, come along and join our learn how to be a Dad Day.

Bring ya Durries and ya ripped singlet and come and enjoy a JD & Coke for Breaky.

Leave ya rug rats at home so they don't get in the way.

    Events for the day -
? Learn how to backhand properly
? teach em how to "get in there" "go-on get"
? help with welfare applications, are you getting your full entitlements
? learn what's the latest head ****ing drugs on the market
? how to bash the misses without leaving bruises and if ya do how to chain her up so she doesn't call the pigs

Ha ha ha Where's the Defender wave gone? feel free to add any other ideas.

We had a representative from The Fathering Project come and have a chat at my son's school.

    Actually a good concept.

    Have a look here. http://thefatheringproject.org/peopl...ruce-robinson/

Made all of us think a bit more and resolve to maybe put our work lives into a bit more perspective.

    Yes, lets sort something mate!

Today near Claremont traffic lights, I must have seen at least 6 Defenders pass me at random times during the day! In my hire car! So no point in waving like an idiot!

How about Cottesloe Beach one evening for a beer and photo shoot!

    Seperate thread beckons I think!

Good idea on a separate thread. Also one of those Defenders may have been mine. I saw quite a few as I drove south around 2ish. Lots of waves. I was in the black 110.

Just had a read, it's all positive and any excuse for Land Rovers to get together is a bonus.

Never mind my sarcasm in the previous post, that's my attempt of being funny.

But I am bewildered that if you have children wouldn't your love be enough motivation for you to father them correctly.

Hence my previous sarcasm, if you're educated (and have all your teeth) and are emotionally stable type guy then do you really need tips on Fathering?
It's all positive I know but the thing we are all guilty of is the amount of time we do/don't spend with our kids.

I'd say it's just a good excuse for a Defender Day. Enjoy yourselves and don't forget the pics. Where's the Defender wave gone?Where's the Defender wave gone?

Actually the interesting thing a few of us noticed is that almost all the Dad's that turned up at our school event were already the ones that spend a lot of time with their kids!

However, even then we all did walk away feeling like we should make that extra bit of effort. So often you find yourself even doing that extra job around the house or something on the weekend when maybe it could have waited.

Anyway, I didn't know about that event but will try and get there. I've heard the message before but it might be fun to meet a few other Defender Dads!

And that is, and probably always will be, the case. The ones who really need this kind of thing are the last to look for it and probably will never find it.
I think we might be a fair way off topic now. Have fun on your day out.
    Cheers, Billy.
