Heh heh yeah I suppose I deserve that.

The 110 V8 County will stay in my driveway though!

But it will get a bigger heart soon.

    Oh come on, be fair.

A $40,000 Sahara against a $85,000 Disco 4? A Sahara with no lockers or TC against Disco 4?

Why not a Sahara against a 130 Puma model or any of the non-TC Defenders? No TC, no lockers? Fairer fight?

Sheesh guys, let's compare apples to apples and not apples to pears.

Despite loving my old Def and secretly lusting after a Disco 4 myself, I reckon the Jeep driver in the video probably had more fun. Open top, wind in his hair, bit of wheel spin, up for a challenge compared to what looks as exciting as a school drop off trip in the disco. As others have said, spend $2K on lockers and $18K on portals and the Jeep will go anywhere

Hang on , this is a Landrover community, surely you expected this.

OK fine how about a $17000 Rubicon vs a $3000 Suzuki

Too true, pity now with all those acronyms they build into 4x4's nowadays a modern 4x4 can make any driver look good.

In ye olde days of Landrovering it was all up to the driver & vehicle prep not the smarts !!

    As for the original topic
I just found this whilst googling

Someone else has already visited the Bronco / Defender idea, but I like the SVX front rather than the Disco front

Ok Jake, can you help me out a bit.
I've had a look on the Jeep Australia website.

Despite all the perochialism the Jeep looks ok, ingore my Jeep ignorance (even tho I was in the Cross Country Jeep Club for a while) correct me if I'm wrong but a Rubicon is petrol only, ( I will only consider a diesel)
so the only option seems Diesel Wrangler Unlimited Sport with Renegade pack ($48,576). its cheaper than the Petrol Rubicon ($49,601), so my question is whats the Rubicon got that the Sport dosent, I can't find the info anywhere on the Jeep site.

I can see Landrover customers going there rather than buying Jap if the next defender has IFS.
