    Steel vs composite HG

    Howdy all
After a bit of searching the www I am getting mixed reports on witch head gasket is best to use on a 300tdi

I will be replacing the head with a
    Turner performance head .
Wile i do a preventative head gasket change .( it's got a little out of control lol)

    Cheers

300 Tdi is one of those where original is the way to go - the aftermarket composite type gaskets IMHO are not very good. This confirmed from 2 Landy mechanics I have dealt with and from personal experience having fitted a 'newer' composite gasket and then having to replace it after only 1500km. Put an original back in and did another 100,000km before I sold it

From the reports better cooling is the main benefit and a bit more free reving , every little bit counts with a little motor .
    Turners claim a extra 10 hp .

Nope. Remember your pots are bigger in the bore as well as a longer stroke
