    1 - Bulkhead removal bar

    2 - Mulgo seat rails

3 - In cabin winch control via an Albright contactor and the Raptor console it is housed in.

4 - A 500amp marine isolator that is operated by a remote switch and cuts power to all but one hidden fuse box. Great piece of mind from a security perspective and easy to access and isolate the battery quickly from a safety perspective.

    • Is there an off-the-shelf water tank available for under the driver's feet or did you construct your own? Fitted by original owner - apparently a local manufactured one in Alice Springs (but I painted over the label years ago!)
    • Is is susceptible to damage from underneath when driving over rock steps or boulders? Yes - if I were building it I would make it smaller and not extending below the chassis - currently in need of repair!
    • Does it heat up from the exhaust? No, exhaust on the Isuzu is on the opposite side outside the chassis. But does warm up from the road in hot weather

I think someone (was it GAV110?) had an under-floor locker there... and come to think of it one of my '85 Counties had a 75L fuel tank that was mounted up under the driver's seat by the previous owner. That had a hefty steel plate (probably 10Kg!) bolted there for protection when rock hopping.
    Hope that helps.

Thanks Steane, you've done a great job with that truck

I've been considering in-cabin winch controls. My current 110 has an winch cut-off switch neatly tucked away on the steering column (where the choke used be on earlier petrol models). That switch activates a 500 amp relay.

I'm thinking of a slightly different setup in the new car with a double throw switch (in the choke location again) that simultaneously enables the winch and activates a 500 amp relay to bypass the dual battery controller (I recently burnt one out after winching - despite what the brochure said). In addition to that I'll be looking for a location to permanently mount an in-cabin winch (in/out) switch.

Are the yellow switches on your raptor console the winch swithces?

The marine isolator sounds like a good idea, but it probably wouldn't play well with the Puma electrics - the car would have to re-boot before I could start it

Daniel seems to have sold a lot of seat rails!

    Cheers RVR.

One of those missile switches is an on/off for power to the winch control switch which is a momentary on/off/on carling switch. Up for line out and down for line in. I wanted a switch that couldnt easily be activated accidentally and the missile switch fits that bill.

Probably is a lot easier to run an isolator on a 300tdi, there is only one cable to worry about

Bet your air-con will be better though

Sliders. After my latest misadventure I really want tree rails at gutter height, but they usually come with a roll cage and I can't afford one yet. Or a girlfriend who's father will panel beat aluminium...

EDIT: the wire basket on the back of my cargo barrier is oh so useful, so much so I think i'll put one on the front of the barrier when touring.

My favorite mod has been extending the range of the remote central locking. Simple fix, and cost nothing. Have also installed an old RR hand brake, instead of the Defender one.
    Other mods.

    Seat rails.
    Sound insulation
Tombie TD5 chip remapping - up to Discovery power
    BFG MT on steel rims
Traxide head light wiring loom (makes the lights seem twice as bright)
Blue Tongue Air compressor (yet to install a tank, and pressure switch)
    Extra fuel tank
    Water tank
    Roller drawers
Dual battery, with lots of power run to the rear for fridge, inverter, sockets
Cargo barrier (need to put padding on mesh to use as head rest for rear seats)

Probably lots more, I just seem to keep working on it

    Cheers,
    Ken

Roo bar and cruise control. Both absolutely required IMO.
