Bruce informed me that there is about a,
    20% increase in power, 90kw -108kw
    22% increase in torque, 360nm-440nm
IMHO, that would make it a lot more pleasurable when towing the camper, overtaking manoeuvres, etc. etc etc.
BTW, he was adamant that the 2.2 is a LandRover motor and NOT a Puma as Puma is a Ford design and the 2.2 is not a Ford.

Kaz11 on here has a Bruce Davis tune, reckons they are getting around 140kw.

I recon I'd be happy with the 22% increase to 440nm torque. Plus wouldn't the engine longevity be a bit better if it's not quiet to close to the edge of what you can squeeeeeeeze out?

A bit of a mute point if you dont have a 2.4 though. I personally am talking about remapping the 2.2 and not having to send the ecu away for a fortnight as it's my daily driver.

I am of the same opinion, I prefer if it is someone local and in my case here in Melbourne.
I was talking to Ritter Automotive the other day and they reckon they can do it with up to 50% gains in power but I don't think they realize it is a 2.2. Am dropping the new 110 in two weeks to install winch and other bits and will ask again.

Reluctant to argue with your man Bruce Davis, but I think he's wrong on this one if he's really of the opinion that the 2.2 Defender is not a Puma...

[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Duratorq_engine"]Ford Duratorq engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

Look under Puma as well as lower down on "2.2" and you'll see the 2.2 is there as a Defender Puma engine. It is modified and refined, but its still a Ford Duratorq Tdci 16v "Puma".

The 2.2 SD engines optional in Freelanders and Evokes are different, but that's a completely different topic...

    Cheers,

    Lou

I read on the defender2 forum that the 2.2 is actually older than the 2.4. Pat
