    Remapping New PUMA

Sorry if i am repeating any questions brought up on the forums but I have been looking to do a remap on my 2.2l puma and having NO luck..

Been asking companies like Bell auto's in UK and Davis Performance over east and they tell me that a tune hasnt been cracked yet for this motor,

I cant see how the 2.2l can be so much different to remap over the 2.4 in the previous model.

Any info on this would be appreciated.

    Cheers, Adam

    GOOD NEWS!

Bell Autos UK have got a tune available.. Finally, but the only problem is its not compatible with the remap interface doohicky witch lets you switch between tunes as you wish. Only option available is to send the ECU over to UK and have it tuned there. They send the tuned ECU back along with a second ECU which is a clone of your old ECU in case you have to visit the dealer at any stage... It all sounds too hard

I've been in contact with pete for a while about this. I want a tune for the 2.2 as well... 170hp sounds very good to me lol.

However, his only option available at the moment is indeed a bit hard... You either send your ECU to him OR if you dont have the time to have a dead defender you buy another BRAND NEW ecu and get it coded to your car then send it out to him lol no good! we will just have to wait I suppose

Not sure if they do one for the new one but I've done a fair few auto logic maps in the past and they have been cracking, drop them an email and see what they say.
In regards to why its more difficult it will not be the engine but the ecu itself.
Ford focus RS owners and newer focus xr5 have similar problems where the ecu is newer and therefore harder to crack. If you want to blame someone blame all governments! It's is them that make rules that make manufactures make these harder to break codes to try and stop people from changing maps and affecting emissions.

Had mine done at Davies Performance Landrovers. 22% more power with Dyno chart.

It has made it so much more drivable. Happy as

I had it done with other works and I did not take any notice as to what I was charged for that part (too excited)

Give Bruce a call and get a quote.
