Thread: My new addition.

I wasn't looking for a project right now but this 1992 Ex-Army comms 130 fell into my lap this week for less than $4000. It has an immaculate chassis and bulk head...less than 44,000km on the clock!
The engine is a 3.5 carburettor V8 but I have a 65,000km 300TDi and gearbox ready to transplant over the summer.

After that...I have no idea what I'm going to do with it!

Yes we spend alot of the winter months camping here but the country in general is so small it's hardly worth creating a dedicated overlander for.

My ambition is to make an overlanding camper that I can use for extended holidays abroad...this August I'm taking my 1998 Discovery to India for 3 weeks of touring....but since it's a 4.6Efi gas guzzler it would be suitable for longer trips where fuel costs and tank range are the limiting factor.
I wanted to put the 300TDi into the Discovery but costs and my technical capability mean't it wasn't an option.
