The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

    Hi Bud

My dad went down the path of option 3 was not very happy in the end with that conversion and sold the Defender 110 Extreme.

I also did all the research on doing the other two conversions the costings were similar.
My choice would be to go with the compushift rather than trying to wire into the Defender the Discovery ECU and Automatic ECU.

    Regards

    Steve

Long story short - there are the 3 options mentioned but noone seems like an expert
    1. td5 gearbox w/ compushift
    2. td5 gearbox wired to shift w/out compushift
    3. 300tdi gearbox w/ td5 bell housing, etc

Prices are all over the place as well - has anyone successfully done this? Also would like your feedback on which route you went, why, and how it has been working after some kms put on the clock?

    thanks again in advance.

How much are the quotes? Ashcroft charge approx $7600 installed with a new gearbox or $5900 for parts including box, so you could reduce that is you got a second hand box. Obviously there is still freight to factor in.

    For a TD5 ? That's a good price.
