Update with respect my original question

I have learned from the folks at Defender2 that new European vehicle classifications means the 130 can no longer be punted as a 3500 kg GVM vehicle anymore (3.5 tonnes being the cuttoff). Accordingly Land Rover Have now down -rated the 130 in Europe to 3380kg, even though the same vehicle in other markets (such as ours) is still rated to 3500kg GVM .

Apparently another upshot of this is that the Heavy Duty option that upgraded some 110 variants to 3500kg GVM has now been discontinued.

So, one more nail in the coffin
