Anyone can contact the manufacturer and order a custom version. Cheaper too!

    Defender Gull Wing Doors

Fitted the gull wing doors this week. I thought they were very easy to install and well within the capabilities of anyone who has a little mechanical knowledge.
My first impression is very positive and I would recommend them to any Defender owners who are setting their vehicles up for touring. It's so much easier to access the rear now.

    Cheers,

    Nino

Can anyone point me in the right direction. It's father day soon so dropping the seeds already lol.

I've seen them on eBay for $475.00

I couldn't agree more. I have gullwings both sides (Dolium ones - Mulgo wasn't selling them then unfortunately); driver's side gives quick and easy access to the rear load area, passenger's side is the pantry These gull wings are the single best thing I've done to the Defender - you won't look back.

If I had the option, I would've chosen the Mulgo ones. Well, the Mulgo cabinet behind the gullwing anyway - the Dolium one is welded steel and weighs a ton. I believe Mulgo does his in marine carpeted ply which is lighter and his also has a deeper pocket beneath the gullwing opening. In terms of the gullwings themselves I think the difference is pretty minimal.

Not having the glass back there has only bothered me at one very acute intersection in the last four or so years. Unfortunately it's one I see a lot of - so I've learnt to pull up at a slight angle. Problem solved.

I just got my tax return so I'm in the market for a set of these

Can anyone tell me the actual differences between the Mulgo and Front Runner versions?

Aside from about $70 and one is Australian made, the other South African?

I'm looking at the solid ones

If you're looking at solid ones, I think the Front Runner (or Dolium as I called them above) are your only option now. I see Mulgo is stocking them at any rate.

Hi Lesdef - they look great - where did you get them from! I've been hunting for some that size with no luck.
