I couldn't agree more. I have gullwings both sides (Dolium ones - Mulgo wasn't selling them then unfortunately); driver's side gives quick and easy access to the rear load area, passenger's side is the pantry 

 These gull wings are the single best thing I've done to the Defender - you won't look back.
If I had the option, I would've chosen the Mulgo ones. Well, the Mulgo cabinet behind the gullwing anyway - the Dolium one is welded steel and weighs a ton. I believe Mulgo does his in marine carpeted ply which is lighter and his also has a deeper pocket beneath the gullwing opening. In terms of the gullwings themselves I think the difference is pretty minimal.
Not having the glass back there has only bothered me at one very acute intersection in the last four or so years. Unfortunately it's one I see a lot of - so I've learnt to pull up at a slight angle. Problem solved.
