Halls Creek seems worse than normal. The Repco guy there would not believe me that my 110 was metric not imperial. He went and got a toyota M10 (fine) bolt and because it was not the same as my M10 (coarse) bolt considered that proof that he was correct.

He flat out refused to do any work on Land Rovers.

Halls Creek must be working on a reputation with LR owners. I can't recall the name of the business but the guy had some Toyotas that he was wrecking in the yard. One of the people on the trip had a D2 alloy which the bloke could not get the bead of the rim. He was swearing that he would never touch an LR again.

since we are on the subject of sues halls creek experience, 2 of these mechs i spoke to just flat out refused to touch it, even when i explained it was just a ford engine, and it was an easy job, they still weren't interested

the 3rd place she went to, john his name was, was great. after a few minutes explaining to him where the egr valve was, how to remove it and what to do to it he just got on with it. kind of saved the day he did

there are still a few decent places about, you just have to search them out.

as for toyota mechanics in these places, i would sooner replace a puma egr than do certain jobs on hilux or landcruiser, like v8 lc200 starter replacements, and cv overhauls etc... filthy job that one!!

one more thing, i am only human, i do make mistakes like anyone does, so try not to think of me as some infallible superhuman lr repairer, there is still lots for me to learn, grasshopper

Not so sure about this JC bloke, he told me my oil leak would cause a HUGE FIREBALL EXPLOSION OF DEATH!
It didn't! Got me all excited for nothing! Now I have to find some other way of knocking off that Ambassador.....I mean...yeah....
Seriously though, JC is a top bloke. I've only had very limited dealings with him but those limited dealings have reinforced what I've read on here
    Keep it up JC!
