    Question

The repair experience was not very good.

I'm now with RACV and just had a brand new Defender T Boned. RACV were pretty good, allowing all new panels . The only area they cheaped out on was repainting a rim instead of replacing it.

There are only three Land rover authorised repairers in Melbourne, 2 are crap, and the only good one is where I took the new Defender. I asked the manager there who they have the least hassle with. He said Shannons... So I've started switching over to them.

(Having said that RACV were excellent with handling the claim, and supplying a rental car.)

RACV $1184 for Top level Comprehensive on a MY13 110 Limited Edition $59,900 agreed value.
    Very interesting information, Thank You.
Who are the 3 LandRover authorized repairers in Melbourne?
I hope I never have to use one, but it would be good to know who they are, as they are obviously thought to be familiar with the product, which would be of help to them in doing an "OE/Factory" repair, and also good for owners to know, so that they could direct their vehicles to these repairers if they wished, in the hope of getting the perfect OE/Factory repair.
    Cheers, Pickles.

They used to be listed in the owners manual, have not looked for a while though. I've had personal experience with all three. I can't name them now cause I slagged off two of them. But lance dixon has a very good reputation. They are also factory approved for Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini.... Spectacular visiting them....

    Shannons !

You do need to be very careful re coverage off-road. I looked into thsi quite extensively and the two top contenders here in Qld were Shannons and Suncorp. Last time I got quotes Shannons were more competitive (for me YMMV). From experience Suncorp has EXCELLENT claim handling.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Just be careful about travelling on marked tracks, that happen to be closed - as you are then travelling on an illegal road.

Shannons said they will not cover my Defender as it is registered as a business vehicle. APIA said they would, but will have to look into the fine print, that is yet to be explored
