    hard starting td5

My 130 td5 is getting hard to start, especially when hot. Some times fires up straight away, other times have to crank it several times.Have tried bleeding fuel with on and off ignition, doesn;t seem to make much difference.Once started runs fine.Any ideas

Could be the 'ol dreaded fuel pump disease! Does it hum on ignition, then settle down to quiet? or not a lot of hum?

Probably the contacts in your starter motor. Search on here for how to remedy.

Starter's fine, have replaced contacts several times.Found oil at red plug, cleaned with thinners, seems to have fixed itBattery voltage drops to around 10.5 on cranking though

I think you should install a pipeline across the paddock! Easier than carting! LOL Yep that oil seems to play merry hell, maybe time we did a harness fix on it. That 10.2 v will not be helping either. I found about 11.5 is when the D2 has a hissy fit at me! Lights flashing and such like much like the mrs does! ROFLAO!
    Cheers Scott
